Repower Engineering
We're a division of
Edens Ltd, an Outdoor Power
Equipment dealer for 25 years. The owner has 47 years experience in the
automotive, electronic and power equipment industry. Edens Ltd is a
multi-line power equipment dealer with 9 lines and 6 engine lines. In addition,
we have an extensive starter, generator and alternator shop, repairing and
rebuilding all types: automotive, agricultural, industrial, gas and diesel
units. We do an extensive parts business and ship parts all over the
United States to both
retail customers and dealers. |

|
| Edens has been doing outdoor power equipment repowers since 1987. In 1999
the decision was made to develop complete kits to repower equipment and to
market some items that we used in the process. Seven models of garden
tractors of various makes have initially been selected as having market
potential for complete engine repower kits. Kits are now available for two
families of Simplicity. We have a prototype 25 hp John Deere 400 running and are
doing the second prototype. We expect to do the dyno/temperature testing
in the hot room this Spring. Others are in process and will follow, as
will as some work on skid loaders and industrial equipment. In developing our
kits, every effort Is made to use the original belts, etc., allowing the owners to
go to their local dealer and use OEM belts. The correct engine and all parts
needed are included as are
complete step by step instructions. The
instructions are written so the kit can be installed by mechanically-inclined
consumers with hand tools. Some minor modifications may require professional
help. |

Thoroughly Tested Solutions
Each repower kit goes through extensive
testing, including certification by representatives of the engine
manufacturers to ensure engine warranty coverage. These include
temperature testing to insure that they do not have problems with heat
re-circulation (where heat from the outlet side finds a path and gets sucked
in the cooling fan) and similar problems that can cause oil temperature,
head temperature, etc to be too high. These tests also check the fuel system
for vapor lock problems.

repowers -- Allis-Chalmers 712 with Briggs & Stratton 16HP Vanguard Engine,

Allis-Chalmers 912
with Kohler 25HP Engine, 1999. While this repower was
quite successful, it isn't practical to offer as kit due to the complexity (i..e.
costs) of the effort. |
